General Thoughts:

London Black Cab Stout is a really deep, full flavoured, rich Stout, bursting with flavours of deep roasted malt and coffee. There is a real smoothness to this beer, which makes it a very easy to drink stout. Sometimes stouts can be very heavy and rich, making them hard to drink, however London Black Cab is not like this, lighter than other stouts and still packs that deep, full flavour. This beer also has a warming quality to it when your drinking it, this for me is always a good thing, makes me want to continue drinking it, time after time. There is also a nice subtle coffee and chocolate undertone to this beer, this just helps to add to the developed taste of the beer. London Black Cab Stout has no carbonation, making its texture smooth and easy drinking. This beer will not disappoint, especially if you enjoy a good stout, or just fancy something different to your normal beer of choice. I would definitely recommend this beer to you all as one to try, it is a really pleasant drinking beer. On the whole London Black Cab Stout is a really enjoyable, deep, full flavoured beer, packed full of nice roasted malt and coffee flavours that will keep you interested the whole time your drinking it. All in all I would recommend that you give this beer a try, nice stout from the guys at the Fuller's brewery.

Brooklyn Summer Ale !!!

General Thoughts:

Brooklyn Summer Ale is an all round great beer, with a slight bitterness, accompanied with a slight sweetness to provide the consumer with an overall well balanced, light, refreshing beer. This beer has a slight citrus quality to it helping to give the beer that refreshing quality, this is also due to its balance between sweet and bitter. There is also a slight fruitiness to this beer, which gives the beer a new dimension, which makes the beer stand out from the crowd. Brooklyn Summer Ale doesn't have much in the way of a bitter after taste which I feel detracts a beer from the moreish quality that makes you want to keeping going back for more, however this beer still delivers the urge for more as it is such an easy drinking beer. This beer would be absolutely perfect in those summer months as the name suggests and I know its probably a little early to be drinking and thinking about the summer, however its sometimes what we need to help us get through the winter. On the whole Brooklyn Summer Ale is a nice, light, refreshing beer that you would enjoy on a hot summers day, with all your mates. If your looking for a hard hitting, deep, full of hops beer then this isn't the beer for you, however saying that you won't be disappointed with what you get. All in all a nice beer from the Brooklyn Brewing Company.

Southern Tier IPA !!!

General Thoughts:

Southern Tier IPA is a really great, light, refreshing beer, with a strong hops flavour. The hops flavour in this beer isn't overpowering, its perfectly balanced with the bitterness from the hops and then the subtle sweetness, just helping to balance the whole beer out. There is little carbonation to this beer and a slight bitter after taste. Southern Tier IPA is a really light, smooth beer that you could find yourself drinking many of as they are easy drinking and delicious. The most outstanding thing about this beer is that it doesn't taste in anyway overly alcoholic or strong, which is a real achievement considering it comes in at  7.3% ABV. On the whole I was really impressed with the Southern Tier IPA as it has the nice strong hops flavour that I look for in an IPA but also balances the bitterness that comes with those hops, to produce a really well balanced, smooth beer that doesn't fell like its going to knock you for six. I would definitely recommend this beer to you all and would advise getting out there and giving it a try, I promise you will not be disappointed. All in all Southern Tier IPA is a fantastic, well balanced, easy drinking IPA, that all can enjoy.

Sunburnt Irish Red - Happy Australia Day !!!

Hey Everyone, Happy Australia Day, I didn't have a chance to go and grab a great Australian Beer for today (to which there are a few), however today's beer review is a great beer and one that you can enjoy all the same on Australia Day, Hope you Enjoy !!!

General Thoughts:

Sunburnt Irish Red is a great tasting beer, with its deep, full flavour. There is a strong hops flavour to this beer, with a slight hint of citrus coming from the hops varieties that have been used in the beer. This slight citrus note gives this beer a great, refreshing feel and flavour which makes it a pleasure to drink. This beer really packs a punch in flavour, more so than I was expecting from an Irish Red beer, the flavours are deep and well rounded, not overly bitter or overly sweet, but delivers a perfectly balanced, well rounded beer. Sunburnt Irish Red also has a moreish quality to it making you want another as soon as you have finished the one in your hand. This to me is a great quality in a beer, this beer has little carbonation, which means that you don't get overly bloated on it and can enjoy one after another. This is a great, well balanced, full flavoured beer, that can be enjoyed at any time of the year, be it in the cold winter months when your looking for something deep and full of flavour, or the summer months when your looking for something refreshing in the hot sun. I was really impressed with this beer and would highly recommend giving it a try. Another great tasting beer from the Eight Degrees Brewery.

Crew Pale Ale !!!

General Thoughts:

Crew Pale Ale is a smooth, light, refreshing beer with slight hops flavours. There is a slight bitterness to this beer, however this is balanced out with a slight sweetness, making this an easy drinking beer. This beer isn't as strong as other pale ales out there, the hops flavour isn't as prominent in this beer as in others, which is a shame as I really like a stronger hops flavour to a beer, therefore this beer is slightly lacking there. Crew Pale Ale has a medium carbonation, giving it that nice coating on the tongue and refreshing quality. There is also a slight cloudiness to this beer. There is also a slight citrus flavour to this beer, coming from the hops used in the beer. Overall Crew Pale Ale wasn't what I was expecting, especially after trying and reviewing the Crew IPA which is really fantastic, don't get me wrong this is a nice beer, easy drinking and nice flavoured, it just didn't pack as much of a punch as I was hoping for in a Pale Ale. This is a pleasant beer, one that you could drink many of, however it just doesn't stand out for me, but I would recommend people give it a try and I would buy it again.

East India Pale Ale !!!

General Thoughts:

East India Pale Ale is a really nice, deep flavoured beer, strong in hops flavour, which I think is fundamental in a Pale Ale, the more hops flavour the more depth for me. This beer has a bitterness to it, giving it that moreish quality, the quality that makes you sit and think about the beer long after you have drunk it and makes you want to go back for more. This is a smooth beer, with little to no carbonation, making it a really easy drinker, especially as you are not left feeling bloated after you drink it, this also means you feel like you can drink more of them. This beer also has a slight bitter after taste, along with a slight citrus note coming from the hop varieties that have been chosen for this beer. The citrus notes help to give the beer a refreshing quality, thirst quenching. East India Pale Ale is strong in flavour and has depth to it, there is not an overwhelming taste of alcohol to this beer, which is a great surprise considering it comes in at 6.9% ABV. This beer doesn't taste as strong as it is which shows there is a real balance to this beer also. On the whole East India Pale Ale is a really nice, enjoyable beer, deep and full in flavour, leaving you refreshed with a slight warming quality coming from the alcohol content. Overall I really enjoyed this beer and would recommend this to you all to try.

Bigfoot Ale (Barley Wine Style) !!!

General Thoughts:

Bigfoot Ale is a really different and interesting beer. This beer is made in a Barley Wine style which accounts for its high alcohol strength, coming in at 9.6% ABV. This beer has a bitter quality to it, along with a developed, strong hops flavour. This beer has a hint of fruitiness to it, one of the main flavours I got from it was a flavour of sultana's or Raisins. This gives the beer an interesting character that you may not expect from a beer. Now to say this beer packs a punch is an understatement, so if your not used to drinking, deep, full flavoured, strong beers then I would advise working your way up to this as it is really strong in flavour and alcohol content. Bigfoot Ale has little carbonation to it, which is perfect for drinking this beer at a slow casual pace. This would not be a beer for a session or for drinking fast, this is definitely a beer to be savoured and drunk slowly, this will allow you to really enjoy its deep flavours. All in all Bigfoot Ale is a deep, full flavoured beer, with fruity characteristics. This may not be a beer to everyone's tastes, as it is so strong and deep in flavour, however saying that I would recommend giving this a try if your looking for something very different that you maybe want on a cold winters evening as it has that warming quality that comes with its strong alcohol content. On the whole I enjoyed this beer and would recommend as a beer to try.
